Telescopic Lighting Towers

Home / Telescopic Lighting Towers

Telescopic light towers should be selected by matching the mast lifting method, working height and site requirements to a specific equipment configuration. Use the model routes below to compare manual, electric, hydraulic and pneumatic options. Then request the documents and quotation for the version you intend to buy.

For construction, industrial work and equipment fleets, the useful comparison includes the lighting task, deployment space, controls, transport and maintenance requirements. The highest mast or a particular lifting method alone does not establish which tower fits your project.

Compare the mast lifting methods

LUMTA’s diesel catalogue lists the following mast lifting methods. These are catalogue references for model selection; confirm the mechanism, controls and supplied accessories in the quotation for your chosen configuration.

Catalogue lifting method Model route What to confirm before ordering
Manual winch D951 manual light tower Winch arrangement, operator access, working height and the supplied operating instructions
Electric D953 electric-mast light tower Lifting power supply, controls, operating limits and the procedure for a loss of power
Hydraulic D955 hydraulic light tower Hydraulic configuration, controls, inspection requirements and the matched mast height
Pneumatic D957 pneumatic light tower Air supply, mast support or locking arrangement and the specified lowering procedure

Ask which components are included and which require a separate option or site provision. For a closer comparison of selection considerations, read the mast lifting method guide.

Confirm the height against the configuration document

The supplied configuration documents show why a model name needs a matching specification. The D951 document lists a 7.5 m manual-winch mast. The D955 document presents separate 7 m and 9 m hydraulic mast configurations.

Supplied document reference Mast configuration shown How to use the reference
D951 configuration document 7.5 m, manual winch Request the specification for the D951 version being quoted
D955 configuration document, shorter version 7 m, hydraulic Confirm that this version matches the proposed equipment
D955 configuration document, taller version 9 m, hydraulic Confirm the corresponding mast, dimensions and lighting package

These references do not establish one height for every order. Compare the proposed lighting head, mast configuration and transport dimensions together, and keep the same specification revision attached to the quotation and order.

Describe the lighting task and site conditions

Start with the area that needs light, the work being carried out, obstacles and possible tower positions. Send a site sketch or photographs where available. Include the proposed lighting head and any additional mast-mounted equipment so the supplier can assess the complete configuration.

Provide the expected ground conditions, available stabilizer space, exposure to wind and any restrictions on positioning. Ask for the operating limits and deployment instructions that apply to the quoted unit. This category page does not provide a universal wind rating or permission to operate at a particular height.

For the questions to resolve before selecting taller equipment, see the height, wind and stability guide.

Request the matching controls and maintenance documents

A manual-winch specification should not be paired with hydraulic-control instructions as though they describe the same operating procedure. Request an operating manual that matches the actual mast and controls supplied with your tower.

Before comparing proposals, ask for the raising and lowering instructions, inspection requirements, arrangements for securing the mast, and the response to a control or power problem. Confirm the parts and maintenance information available for the quoted configuration, together with responsibility for commissioning and operator training.

Use those documents to plan maintenance. A catalogue description of the lifting method does not establish a common service interval or show that one mechanism will need less maintenance on your site.

Check the transport and deployment envelope

For mast trailers and other mobile towers, compare the equipment’s retracted dimensions, mass, lifting or loading provisions and working footprint against your transport route and site access. Include storage height, gates, available turning space and the surface where the tower will be deployed.

Request the trailer and transport documents relevant to the destination and intended movement. Confirm any towing, registration or road-use requirements locally. A model listing does not establish road approval, a towing speed or suitability for installation on a separate vehicle.

If the tower will move between sites, include the relocation frequency and loading arrangements in the enquiry so they can be considered alongside the mast and lighting package.

Prepare a comparable project quotation

  1. State the application, destination, quantity and planned delivery requirement.
  2. Describe the lighting area, preferred working height, lighting head and any additional mounted equipment.
  3. Identify a preferred lifting method or model, and explain the available power, operator access and site restrictions.
  4. Provide deployment space, ground and wind conditions, transport constraints and maintenance expectations.
  5. Request a configuration specification, matched manual, included accessories, optional items and the supply terms needed to compare proposals.

If the energy system is still undecided, compare the diesel light tower catalogue and solar lighting tower catalogue. The mobile light tower range provides the wider equipment routes.

Compare quotations against the same scope of equipment, documents and support. Pricing, delivery, packaging and destination-specific requirements should be confirmed for the selected configuration.

Request a telescopic lighting tower quote

Send your application, destination, quantity and mast requirements. If the model is undecided, describe the site and lighting task so the enquiry can begin with a configuration discussion.
